titleOfInvention METHOD FOR PRODUCING AN ARTIFICIAL LEATHER PLATE
abstract In synthetic leather sheet prodn., (a) a foamed high mol. wt. polymer emulsion is applied to a substrate and dried; (b) UV-hardenable resin compsn. is deposited on the coated substrate; and (c) made to react under the activity of UV radiation, to form a top layer. The synthetic leather sheets can be used for clothing, car or furniture upholstery, shoes, bags and accessories. The sheets have excellent appearance and smoothness, a soft hand, good resistance to abrasion and washing and are free from cornua-effect. The process takes place without the use of organic solvents. The top layer can be thin.
