abstract | 2-Trans-(2-(2-pyridyl)-cyclopropyl) -chromone-6-carboxylic acid derivs and their salts of formula 2-Trans (2-(methyl-pyrid- 2-yl) -cyclopropyl) -3-R2-(O)n-6-R100C-chromone, (I), are new. In (I) n is 0 or 1; R1 is H or 1-4C alkyl (opt. substd. by -NR3R4); R3,R4 independently are H or 1-2C alkyl to give a basic ester radical; R2 is 2-3C alkyl or allyl and the methyl group on the pyridyl ring is in position 5 or 6). Cpds. are antiallergics, used to treat bronchial asthma, allergic rhinitis, hay fever, urticaria, dermatoses etc., which are active by oral admin. They may be administered orally or parenterally in daily doses of 0.25-15mg/kg, by inhalation in daily doses of 0.25- 100 mg., esp. 0.5-25 mg. or by topical application. Some of the cpds. also have antiulcer activity. |
