abstract New agents against theileriasis contain a 3-(3-(2-piperidinyl)- acetonyl) -4(3H)-quinazolinone deriv. (I) in admixture with a pharmaceutically usual carrier and/or constituent. In (I), R1 and R2 are halogen, CF3, 1-4C alkoxy or CH3; Y is O, S or NOH; R is OH or 1-4C acyloxy; and X is the anion of lactic acid, acetic acid or aceturic acid. Specific (I) rac-trans-7-bromo-6-chloro-3 (3-(3-hydroxy-2-piperidyl) acetonyl)-4(3H)-quinazolinone lactate, aceturate and acetate are claimed.The lactates, acetates and aceturates (I) have better solubility than the corresponding hydrochlorides and are suitable for oral admin. in the form of aq.-solns.
