titleOfInvention | USE OF POLYPEPTIDES AS AN ANALGETIC IN HUMAN AND ANIMAL MEDICINE |
abstract | Use of tyrosine-O-sulphate polypeptides (I) as analgesics in human and veterinary therapy is new X-Tyr(SO3H)-Y-Gly-Trp-W-Asp-Phc-NH2 (I) (X is H, t-butoxycarbonyl (Boc), Asp, Pyr-Glu, Pyr-Gln-Asp or Pyr-Asn-Asp; Y is Thr, Met, Leu, Nle or Val; and W is Met, Nle or Leu). The polypeptides (I), which include cpds. such as phyllocaerubin and ceruletide, all have cholecystokinin. Ceruletide can be used in patients suffering severe pain due to any cause, e.g. due to traumatological accidents, burns, myocardial infarct or angina pectoris, and in obstetrics and gynaecology. Mean dosage for cerulatid is 0.5 ng/kg i.v. to 300 ng/kg i.m. |
