abstract |
Aldehyde derivs. of formula (I) are new (where R1 is opt. branched 1-6C alkyl or benzyl; R2 is opt. branched 1-6C alkyl; X is O or is not present). (I) can be prepd. by reacting 1-ethoxy-2-methylprop-1-ene (II) with arylaldehyde diacetal derivs. of formula (III). (I) are antimicrobials and can be used in disinfecting surfaces. (I) not only inhibit growth of germs but also kill them. |
