titleOfInvention | ONE-STAGE DEVELOPER AND LACQUERING MIXTURE, ESPECIALLY FOR DIAZO PRINTING FORMS |
abstract | A one-step developing and lacquering compsn. is prepd. by mixing (A) an aq. soln. of at least 1wt.% of a Li salt of a 1-36C organic cpd. having at least one acidic H; and (B) a water-miscible organic solvent soln. contg. 5-20wt.% of an ink-receptive, film-forming resin in the ratio 1:3-30:1. The use of Li benzoate as the Li salt; methyl amyl ketone, methyl 'Cellosolve' (RTM) or its acetate, cyclohexanone, DMF, DMSO, isopropanol or dioxane as the solvent of (B); and an epoxy, polyvinyl acetal, phenol-formaldehyde, polyurethane or polyester resin as the resin of (B) is claimed. The compsn. is useful for treating exposed diazo sensitised lithographic printing plates. It provides an extended pressure life (improvement of 200%, compared with the use of (A) alone). |
