titleOfInvention METHOD FOR PRODUCING STORAGE-STABLE, RELEASE AGENT-CONTAINING ETHYLENE (ALPHA) -OLEFIN (DIEN) RUBBER POWDER
abstract Storage-stable, parting cpd.-contg. C2H4-alpha-olefin-( diene) rubber powders are prepd. by grinding the rubber chips or the pre-comminuted rubber particles and adding a parting cpd. Novelty comprises using a C2H4-alpha-olefin- (diene) rubber having crude strength 5-20 MPa and Mooney viscosity NL (1+4) 100 deg.C 50-150. The parting cpd. can be (i) polyethylene, polypropylene, polybutene -1 or PVC having average sec. particle size 5-50 mu; (ii) synthetic amorphous SiO2 having average prim. particle size 0.01-0.2 mu and average sec. particle size 5-35 mu; (iii) natural SiO2 in which at least 65 wt.% has average prim. particle dia. less than 5 mu average sec. particle size 7-50 mu; (iv) SiO2-contg. mineral having average prim. particle size 0.5-2.5 mu and average sec. particle size 10-35 mu or (v) C black having average particle size below 0.3 mu. The powders can be used in shaped article prodn. and also for working into liq. media, e.g. bitumen. Free-flowing, non-caking rubber powders can be prpd. by adding small parting cpd. quantities.
