abstract |
In a process for mfg. water-resistant mouldings, the amt. of water used in the initial mixt. is restricted to a max. of one- third of the wt. of cement when the ion exchange resins are of the gel type. The amt. of water used is pref. 0.3 or less times the wt. of cement employed. The ion exchange resins are pref. pre-dried to a water content of less than 5%; and a concrete liquefier is pref. included in the initial mixt. Esp. used for the finalorage of radioactive waste, e.g. in disused salt mines. No radioactive leakage occurs into subterranean water entering the environment, so the mouldings comply with recent restrictions w.r.t. radioactive waste disposal. |
