abstract |
Freezing mixt. for portable refrigerator and cooler consists of at least 2 inorganic salts (I) of ammonia, alkali metals and Ca and a sulphate hydrate (II) with at least 10 water mols. in the form of crystalline or moulded particles. The particle surfaces of each component are covered with a 0.1-50 micron thick protective film of nonhygroscopic material (III). (III) can be a polysaccharide (deriv.), synthetic resin, protein deriv., wax, fat or oil. (I) and (II) are kept apart until the cooling function is required. The cooling function can be produced without the use of liquid water or ice and deliquescence during storage and transport is avoided. |
