titleOfInvention | DARK CHAMBER LAMP |
abstract | A low power darkroom safe-light has an array of gallium phosphide LEDs with their output intensity controlled to suit the user. The spectral output of the lamp is outside the sensitive range of the film being processed and the lamp requires no cooling. At least two rows of LEDs are mounted on a common baseplate inside the shallow rectangular housing, which is made from a plastic extrusion U strip with clip-on ends and with a cover glass. It is light and low cost with no cooling required, as compared with conventional sodium vapour lamps. The output of the lamp is improved by including a reflector strip of bent metal while the spectral range is more clearly defined with integral filters. The front glass is plastic moulded to the side strip. |
