abstract | An offset printing paste contains (1) reactive resins, (2) microcapsules contg. dye precursors, (3) spacers with grain size 1.5-5x the dia. of the microcapsules, and (4) additives and auxiliaries. The resin esp. forms 90-50 wt.% of the paste. A binder mixt. contg. vinyl monomers, radiation-hardening resins, drying oils, and skinning-preventatives may be used. The microcapsules pref. form 5-30% of the paste. The walls of the microcapsules are formed of polymers, or poly-condensation or addn. prods., pref. poly-addn. prods. from polyisocyanates and polyamines. The dye-former is esp. of the triphenylmethane, diphenylmethane, xanthene, thiazine or spiropyran series. Use of the paste in prodn. of pressure-sensitive, carbon-free carbon paper on offset printing machines is claimed. The paper can be made in 1 process on a multi-colour offset printing machine. There are no special requirements for the paper carrier. |
