New N(4)-(N-phenyl-acetomidoacetyl) sulphanilamide derivs. are cpds. of formula (I). (Where X is O or S; and R1 is CF3 or is an open-chain or cyclic 2-8C hydrocarbon residue opt. interrupted by an O-atom. Alternatively R1 is 2-6C alk(en)yl, (1-4C)alkoxy-(1-4C) alkyl. (I) may be prepd. by acetylating the unacetylated deriv. (I) are useful as schistosomicides in human and veterinary medicine. They are generally administered in a dosage of ca 100-1000 mg/kg/day, orally or parenterally. |
