titleOfInvention | UREA Fumarate and feed for ruminants |
abstract | Ruminant feed contains a urea salt formed with a Krebscycle acid. The salt is pref. formed with fumaric acid and pref. salts are (=CHCOOH)2.2NH2CONH2 (I) and (=CH-COOH)2.NH2CONH2 (II). Cpd. (I) is a novel salt. Feeds normally contain 0.1-7 wt.% of the salt based on the total weight of dry materials in the feed. The salt may also be supplied as a concentrate contg. up to 50 wt.% of salt for mixing with feedstuffs. Provides ruminant feed which improves metabolism in the rumen. In 'in vitro' digestive tests the urea fumarate salt releases ammonia more slowly, than does a simple mixture of urea and fumaric acid. |
