abstract | New herbicides contain (a) a p-chloro-2-(O,O-diethyl- or O,O-dimetbyl thioophosphorylthio) N-isopropyl-acetanilide (I) in combination with (b) a 2-ethylamino-4-(1-5C alkylamino)-6- methylthio-1,3,5-triazine (II): (where R is Me or Et; and R1 is 1-5C alkyl). The ratio of (I) to (II) is generally 1:0.2 to 1:5, esp. 1:0.3 to 1:2. Suitable formulations include wettable powders, emulsifiable concentrates, dusts and granulates. Rate of application is generally 0.1-10 (pref. 0.3-5) kg/ha. (I) are chiefly active against annual grasses and sedges in rice, wbile (II) are chiefly active against annual broadleaved weeds. (I) and (II) together display a synergistic effect, mainly against various broadleaved weeds. The combinations are therefore useful as herbicides against mono- and dioctyledonous weeds, esp. in rice. |
