abstract New 4H-benzo b pyran-4-one derivs. are cpds. of formula (I) and their acid addn. salts. In (I) each R1 (identical) is H, halogen, CF3, 1-4C alkyl or 1-4C alkoxy; and R2 and R3 are 1-4C alkyl or NR2R3 is pyrrolidino, piperidino, 4-cyano-4-phenylpiperidino, azepino, or -methyl-1,4-diazepino, morpholino, di(1-4C alkyl) morpholino, 1,2,3,4-tetrahydroisoquinolino, or 4-R4-1-piperazinyl in which R4 is 1-4C alkyl, 2-hydroxy-ethyl, phenyl, (1-4C alkyl)phenyl, (1-4c alkoxy)phenyl, halophenyl or trifluoromethylphenyl. (I) have cardiovascular activity. Daily dosage is 3-30 mg/kg. orally or 0.3-6 mg/kg. parenterally.
