The foodstuff can be used for the dietetic and curative treatment of sleep disorders and nervous disturbances, and for eliminating and normalising the injurious side effects of medicaments of synthetic or plant origin. (I) has a pleasant, sweet-sour flavour. (I) can be used alone or in combination with other plant-extracts, plants or synthetic active substances, in dietetic foods or in pharmaceutical prepns. It is pref. used as a carrier for pharmaceuticals such as asprin.
