abstract A toy kit for modelling, educational purposes or play includes a ferromagnetic base plate of rectangular shape with two side plates. Partitions are made of a nonmagnetic material such as a deformable plastic or plasticine in which permanent magnet particles are embedded. The partitions can thus be located anywhere on the base plate. The partitions are lined with marixes, made of aluminium or PVC, in which image or shapes are engraved. Matrices can also be hand-made by laying on aluminium foil on a rubber sheet and applying a stylus to it. When a casting resin is poured into the cavities thus formed, a great variety of building blocks can be cast.
