titleOfInvention METHOD FOR APPLYING A FLUORESCENT TO A LUMINAIRE SUPPORT
abstract In the application of a phosphor (I) to a (glass) screen by photoprinting, using a (I) suspension contg. sensitised PVA as binder, silane(s) (II) is added as adhesion promoter, (II) being stable in aq. soln. at the temp. of application and decomposed at higher temp. (II) is pref. a trimethoxysilane, esp. gamma-methacryloxypropyl-, gammamercaptopropyl- or N-beta(aminoethyl)-gamma-aminopropyl-trimethoxysilane. The amt. of (II) used is pref. 0.005-2 (0.01-1) vol.%. The PVA pref. is sensitised with (ammonium)cichromate. Process is specified for use in the prodn. of colour TV screens. Excellent adhesion is attaned, even to untreated glass surfaces.
