titleOfInvention | METHOD FOR PRODUCING HYDROPHILIC THREADS AND FIBERS BY THE DRY-NOZZLE WET SPINNING PROCESS |
abstract | In the prepn. of hydrophilic core-sheath fibres or filaments from synthetic polymers with a porosity of >=10% and a water retention capacity of >=10% with fibre swelling lower than the water retention capacity by spinning a polymer soln. according to the dry-nozzle-wet spinning process, the fibres are contacted with steam or vapour of another coagulating liq. immediately after emergence from the spinning nozzle and before the actual coagulation process in the precipitation bath. The fibres have high water adsorption without swelling, fast moisture transport and can be used in clothing. The polymer is pref. an acrylonitrile polymer contg. >=50 wt. % acrylonitrile. |
