In porous heat-insulators, consisting of moulded polymer coated porous mineral filler granule blocks, a polyolefin is used as the granule polymer coating material. Polymer coating thickness is 1/1000-1/25 average granule dia. The distance between the granules in contact positions is 0.5-2x thickness of the coatings. Wt. ratio porous mineral: polyolefin is 80:20-98:2. The prods. can be used for heat-insulating buildings, roofs, walls and pipe conduits. The heat insulator has bulk wt. 60-250 kg./m3 and high plasticity. The coating is evenly distributed over the whole grain surface. Flexural strength reaches 3-4 kg./cm2 and compressive strength 9-12 kp./cm2. Insulators contg. =12wt.% polyolefin are incombustile. Insulators contg. 13-20wt.% polyolefin are only slightly combustible. Heat conductivity is 0.03-0.04 kcal/m.hr. degree C. |
