titleOfInvention METHOD AND CIRCUIT ARRANGEMENT FOR MONITORING THE PROPER PROGRAM
abstract The programme monitoring system is for use with computer systems and permits a continuous check for errors. A microprocessor is coupled to a read-write memory (M) over a bidirectional data bus (BUS2) and an address bus (BUS1). Addresses are transmitted to a decoder that generates an output when a memory write signal (MEMW) is produced. An AND gate (G1) provides a signal to trigger two successive monostables (MF1, MF2) set to respond with a selected period. A second AND gate (G2) processes a second decoder output and the memory write (MEMW) signal. This error indicating signal is used as a reset for a flip-flop (FF). The set and reset cycle occurs continuously throughout the length of the programme to provide immediate detection of any programme error.
