titleOfInvention | STABLE AQUEOUS ELECTROPLATING BATH FOR GLOSSY PALLADIUM COATINGS |
abstract | A bright palladium aq. electroplating bath has a pH of 4.5-12 and comprises pure Pd in electrodeposital form, free of alloying elements, a class I brightener selected from methylene bis (naphthalene sodium sulphonate), sodium benzene sulphonate, benzene sulphonamide and phenol sulphonic acid and a class II brightener selected from benzaldehyde -O- sodium sulphonate, 2-butyne -1, 4 - diol, 2 - butene -1,4-diol and alkyl sulphonate. The Pd id pref. in divalent form as an amine complex with chloride, bromide, nitrite or sulphite. Pref a conducting or buffering salt and chelating agent are also present. The bath forms a bright deposition on Fe, Co, and Ni substrates which are normally passivated under alkaline conditions. |
