abstract Floor covering, pref an open-called plastic foam, for use barefoot, esp as foot-mat in wet rooms, contains a releasably embedded active ingredient, (A), e.g. an antiseptic, deodorant and/or medicinal substance. The spread of foot fungus diseases can be arrested. (A) may be embedded directly or in a carrier. The carrier may be water-soluble or -decomposable, or decomposable and/or volatilising. (A) is released from matting esp by washing out. The floor covering is adjusted to fit its use, as regards moisture, temp. and/or wear and also the solubility of (A). (A) may be water-soluble, and/or may be prepd by decomposing its precursor, esp with water, and/or (A) volatilises.
