Imidazole derivs. of formula (I) and their acid-addn. salts are new: (R is opt. substd. phenyl, naphthyl or tetrahydronaphthyl; R1 is opt. substd. phenyl or cycloalkyl; R2 is H; or R1 + R2 in the ortho position to each other can form an opt. substd. polymethylene bridge or a fused benzene ring; R3 is halogen, alkyl, alkoxy or haloalkyl; n = 0-3). Cpds. (I) have antimycotic activity, e.g. against Candida, Epidermophyton, Aspergillus, Trichophyton, Microsporon and Penicillium spp. They can be used to treat dermatological and systemic infections in humans and animals. |
