Accumulator electrolyte (I) contains an electrically inert, non-dissociated additive (II), which has a smaller dielectric constant (DC) then water and reduces the DC of (I). (II) can be a liq. or solid which is miscible with or soluble in (I). (II) is used specifically in (I) of Pb-H2SO4 or Ni-Cd (-Fe)-KOH accumulators. These can be used for a wide variety of purposes, e.g. in transistor radios and pocket calculators, rechargeable vehicle and domestic batteries or for an extended power supply in the MW range. Additive causes self-charging after previous partial discharge, i.e. automatic thermoelectrochemical regeneration. |
