titleOfInvention | REGULATING THE DEVELOPMENT OF COTTON PLANTS |
abstract | Growth regulation of cotton plants is effected by applying a N,N-dimethylpiperidinium (DMP) salt (esp. the chloride at a rate of 5-490 g./ha. by means of an aircraft or ground-effect vehicle (e.g. hovercraft) as soon as there are 2-20 white or yellow flowers per 10-metre row of plants. Application of DMP salts in this way produces faster and earlier ripening, inhibits vegetative growth and increases resistance to capsule rot. The application rates are lower than previously used rates (0.5-8 kg./ha. DT 2207575). |
