titleOfInvention | PROCESS FOR DETERMINING AND PROOFING THE EFFECT OF ONE OR MORE SUBSTANCES WHICH RELEASE SUBSTANCES STORED IN THE HYPOPHYSIS, IN PARTICULAR SUBSTANCES WITH OPIAT-LIKE ACTION |
abstract | Release factors (I) capable of releasing stored substances (esp. substances with opiate-like activity, i.e. endorphins) from the pituitary body are isolated by extraction of healthy or pathologically altered tissue originating from outside the CNS of human or animal organisms. The tissue to be extracted is pref. obtd. from male or female sexual organs, esp. from the uterus of a pregnant female (isolated shortly before or after birth). Before extraction, the tissue can be (i) extracted with acetone to remove H2O and lipids or (ii) homogenised with ice-cold aq. acid (esp. MCl) and freeze dried. The use of (I) as pharmaceuticals (esp. analgesics, antidiarrhoeal agents, antiphologistics, obstetric pharmaceuticals, antiallergic agents and psychotherapeutic agents), foodstuff additives and diagnostic aids is claimed. |
