abstract | Benzodiazaborine derivs. of formula (I) are new: In (I), R1 is an alkyl gp. opt. substd. by 1-3 halogen, pref. Cl atoms, or a 2-5C alkenyl gp., R2 and R3 are 1-4C alkyl, F, Cl or Br, or one of R2 and R3 can be H; R4 is H or a cation, pref. alkali metal. Specific (I) are 1-Hydroxy-2-(3-chloropropylsulphonyl)-6-methyl-benzo-2,3,1-diazab- orine, 1-hydroxy-2-(isobutyl-sulphonyl)-6-methyl-benzo-2,3,1-diazaborine and their salts with bases. (I) are antibacterial agents with high activity against Gram-negative bacteria, e.g. with a curative ED50 of 8.6-9.8 mg/kg (p.o.) against infections by E.coli, Proteus mirabilis, Proteus vulgaris and Klebsiella Aeruginosa in mice. |
