abstract | Diazaborine derivs. of formula (Ic) are new. In (I), Y is H or equiv. of a cation; A is fused benzene, naphthalene, pyrrole, thiophene or furan, opt. substd. by >=1 alkyl, alkylthio, alkylsulphonyl, arylsulphonyl, aralkylsulphonyl, acylamino, R3R2N, OH, CN, COOH, 4-R4-piperazino, or halo; there being >=1 OH, CN, COOH, R4-piperazino or R'2R3N substit., R1 is then alkyl, or mono- or poly-nuclear carbocyclic or heterocyclic aromatic residue opt. substd. by >=1 alkyl, alkylthio, acylamino, halo, NH2 or NO2; R2 and R3 are H or lower alkyl; R4 is H, lower alkyl or formyl; R'2 is lower alkyl. Alternatively (i) A is fused benzene opt. substd. by >=1 lower alkyl (not at the 7-position), lower acylamino, NH2 or halo; fused pyrrole 1-substd. by lower alkyl or aralkyl; or fused furan substd. by halo, and R1 is then alkyl or phenyl opt. substd. by >=1 lower alkyl, NO2, NH2, lower acylamino or halo; (ii) A is fused thiophene, opt. substd. by Br or lower alkyl and R1 is then alkyl; (iii) A is Br-substd. thiophene and R1 is phenyl opt. substd. by >=1 lower alkyl, NO2, NH2, lower acylamino or halo.
