titleOfInvention | PROCESS FOR MANUFACTURING AMMONIUM AND ALKALIMETAL TUNGFRAMATES |
abstract | Tungstates partic. ammonium tungstate, are produced from Fe-Mn-W ores and concentrates which do not contain alk. earth metals, by contacting the starting material with an aq. soln. contg. ammonium- and/or alkali metal cations and >1 anion of hydroxide, carbonate, hydrogen-carbonate, oxalate and phosphate in the presence of O2, H2O2, alkali metal peroxide or a mixt. of these, acting as oxidising agent. The temp. of the aq. soln. is 10 degrees C to the b.p. (30 degrees-70 degrees C). The method gives a higher yield and the prod. contains a lower amt. of impurities. Environmental pollution is avoided. Used for the prodn. of W and W compds. partic. WO3. |
