titleOfInvention METHOD OF PROCESSING WASTE OF ANIMAL, BONE AND MEAT
abstract Comminuted animal carcase-, bone- and meat waste is enzymatically hydrolysed, opt. after an acid or alkaline protein denaturation at 100 degrees C and cooling to 30-70 (50) degrees C. Hydrolysis takes place at the optimum pH for the enzyme used. Fat and protein hydrolysate are then sepd. from one another, by unmixing, e.g. by centrifuging, at 80-100 degrees C., and the insoluble residue is opt. filtered off. The protein prods. can be used in super-protein diets, or as food additives e.g. in diabetic foods, soup flavours, animal feedstuffs, etc. The difficulty soluble residue obtd. in bone processing can be used as fertiliser or as animal feedstuff additive. Waste prod. treatment is quick, e.g. 3 hrs.; non-polluting and odourless. Water-insoluble protein hydrolysates are obtd. in high yields.
