titleOfInvention | VALVE CONTROLLED VANE WHEEL TURBO MACHINE |
abstract | The vaned turbine is of the internal-combustion type with spark- or compression ignition, using any gaseous or liq. fuel. It has a positively-controlled outlet valve (25) and a combined automatic inlet and outlet valves (24). As the process chambers expand a vacuum is generated so that they are suddenly charged while under the automatic valve, while the exhaust valve is kept open for one revolution. Cooling is by air with radial fan from outside and liq. lubricant from inside, while the combustion and process chambers are lubricated and sealed by solid lubricant on a synthetic resin molybdenum disulphide basis. All components plug together without screws, apart from the valve assemblies, being subsequently held together by stay bolts (19), while all external accessories are in module form. The cooling fins are of varying lengths and at varying intervals dependent on the thermal loading being enclosed by a split cylindrical air guide (21) to which a fan casing is fitted at the front. |
