titleOfInvention ISOPHTHALIC ACID AND HEXAMETHYLENEDIAMINE POLYAMIDE
abstract Polyamides are made by reaction of dialkyl ester of isophthalic acid with hexamethylene diamine, using known polycondensn. methods. Opt. up to 30 mol. % dialkyl terephthalates and up to 30% isophorone diamine, bis(4-amino cyclohexyl) alkane, aminocarboxylic acid or lactam may also be present. Used in injection moulding or extrusion to components, film, sheet, fibres, bristles or hollow articles, and as electrical insulation. The polymers are non-crystalline, fully transparent and colourless. They have high impact strength, elongation and heat stability.
