abstract An agent for treating textile materials in the form of an aq. emulsion which contains (a) 5-20 pref. 5-15 wt.% where R is linear or branched 10-30C pref. 12-20C alkyl or alkenyl, or a gp. of formula R'-NH-(CH2)n (where n is 2-4, and R' is as R); X+ is Na+, K+ or NH4+. The emulsion also contains (b) either 2-30 pref. 3-15 wt.% (where R1 and R2 are 1-5C alkyl; or R1 is H and R2 is 1-8C alkyl, phenyl, or (1-4C alkyl)&amp;henyl; y and z are 6-8, and pref. y + z = 14; X is as in (I)) or 2-20 wt.% (where R3 and R4, identical or different, are branched or linear 4-8C alkyl pref. branched 8C alkyl; p is 0-4, Z is -(CH2)q-COOM,-SO3M2 or -PO3M3, (where q is 1, 2 or 3 and m is an ion of an alkaline metal or of (trialkyl)ammonium)); (c) 1-15 pref. 1-3 wt.% HO(CH2CH20)mH, where m is 100-400 pref. 100-250; and (d) 1-5 pref. 1-3 wt.% non-ionic addn. prod. of ethylene oxide as emulsifier. This agent gives the textile material a soft, supple feel, and the textile material retains good weting capacity. The agent is very stable while being stored.
