abstract Pharmaceutical compsns. contains an acceptable diluent or vehicle, and as active ingredients a triazole deriv. of formula (I). In (I) R1 and R2 are both H or COOH, or together they complete a fused benzo ring. The dotted circle indicated 2 double bonds when R1 and R2 are H, R3 = is CH3, CH3, C2H5, C3H7, benzyl (opt. substd. by 4-Cl, 4-CH3O or by pentachloro) or phenyl (opt. substd. by 4-Br or by Cl), attached to N1. When R1 and R2 = COOH, R3 is ethyl, butyl, benzyl phenethyl or phenyl attached to N1. When R1 + R2 complete benzo, R3 is benzyl or 2-chlorobenzyl attached to N1, or benzyl attached to N2 (I) are used as tranquillisers or at higher doses, sedatives. Compsns. are in usual forms for oral, parenteral or rectal administration, and the pref. dose is 0.2-300 mg/kg 1-4 times per day. A typical tablet contains 100 mg 1-(2-chlorophenyl)-1H-1,2,3-triazole; 80 mg starch; 80 mg powdered lactose; 20 mg talc.
