PROCEDURE AND DEVICE FOR CONTINUOUS OZONIZATION |
abstract |
Continuous ozonisation process, of unsatd. cpds. partic. of long chain cpds. or with high molecular weights such as olefins oleic acid or linoleic acid etc. in the presence of water is claimed. Process consists of causing to react in a co-current way a fresh charge of the mixt. to be ozanised with a gas contg. ozone which has been previously used to ozonise an already partially ozonised charge of the mixt. Simultaneously. a partially ozonised charge is made to react co-currently with a fresh charge of gas contg. ozone. The reaction may be regulated and accelerated such that the heat of reaction is not produced suddenly in a small space, but is spread out through the entire space. The heat of reaction may be dissipated by uniform evaporation of the water without varying the temp. and pressure in the reactor. The system allows a quantitative transformation of the participating products without having to use costly counter-current reactors. |
