abstract A mineral compsn. is prepd. by aq. leach of an inorganic material to dissolve the desired elements, and opt. evaporating the water. The inorganic material is pref. fly ash (obtd. from combustion of powdered anthracite in an electricity generating plant), volcanic ash, lava or dolomite (all finely divided). Process is pref. at acid pH, maintained using CO2, HCl, H2SO4, acetic acid, citric acid or ascorbic acid. Amt. of inorganic material is pref. 10-1000, esp. 20-100 g/1 aq. leaching agent, contact being for 2-3 days with agitation. The aq. mineral compsn. may be used as a mineral supplement for domestic animals, or as a mineral drink for humans.
