abstract | Rinsing compsn. for use after washing which consists of a liq. aq. dispersion of 1-12, esp. 2-10 wt. %, of >=1 high mol. wt. quat. ammonium salt (I) with two 14-22C aliphatic hydrocarbyl gps.; and 1-14, pref. 2.5-10 wt. % of a copolymer (II) with free COOH gps. (II) is prepd. from vinyl esters and copolymerisable mono- or di-carboxylic acids in presence of 0.5-7.0 wt. % polyacrylamide (based on wt. of monomers) as protective colloid (which remains in (II)). The total of (I) and (II) is 5-15, esp. 6-12 wt. %. Additionally the compsn. may contain 2-10 wt. % of a polyethylene glycol of mol. wt. 130-3,000 esp. 220-2,000. For use in domestic washing machines. Because it is conc. the compsn. can be added automatically and (II) will later be washed out so will not cause greying as happens with polyvinyl acetate homopolymers. The compsns. are easily poured and remain stable for a long time when stored at 0-30 degrees C. |
