The metal housing for an electrical component is insulated from the cover, which closes the housing and through which an electrical conductor passes. Insulation is applied as a plastic coating to one of the parts; the coating being welded, stuck, etc. to one side of the sheet metal blank, before it is pressed to shape. The coating is pref. an olefin copolymer, and the sheet metal is Al (alloy). The coating may insulate the cover from the conductor as well as from the housing. |
