abstract The snow chain and locking device are for a vehicle tyre. There is a tensioning device on each side of the tyre (relative to the tread). These extend around the entire tyre periphery and secure anti skid elements. Such as chains, across the tyre thread. There are devices for tensioning, which may be flexible. There is also a tensioning fixing to lock the last tensioning device below the tread (1). The tensioning devices are approximately in the centre of the tread (5) and can be cross connected by a spring (11) at various points, as desired. The chain pattern on the tread can be of several types, with the chain at right angles to the tread path, or otherwise.
