abstract | Theink (I) comprises 25-75 wt.% solvent drawn from aliphatic and cyclic ketones, aldehydes, acetals, ethers and esters; 8-25 wt.% of a is not >3C aliphatic alcohol. 8-17 wt.% cationic or anionic surfactant, 12-35 wt.% water; 0.5-5 wt.% basic or neutral pigment and 0-10 wt.% 8-12C aliphatic hydrocarbon. (I) has viscosity of is not >10 cps at 20 degrees C, specific resistance of is not >1500 ohm-cm and surface tension of 22-35 dyne cm at 20 degrees C. (I) is suitable for printing on polymer coated electro tin plated and tin free steel cans and contains no resin (I) softens, swells and penetrates the polymer coating and is resistant to abrasion, heat, moisture, pasteurising and sterilising processes. |
