titleOfInvention METHOD FOR CLEANING UP LIQUIDS
abstract In a system for the detoxification or deodorisation of effluent a gas is kept in intimate contact with the fluid by maintaining a pressure of 1 bar (50-250 m bar). A column filled with packing rings or a crown plate column, operated in counter flow, is prefd. for the gas treatment. This saves the large flow rates of air needed for conventional aeration. It does not require the large amount of heat energy needed for a distillation treatment. In an example effluents from the rubber mfr. when cleaned under a pressure of 200 mbar, and a temp. of 25 degrees C. The residual contents after treatment were 6% chloropene, 62% 1.2-dichloroethane, 15% toluene, 7% vinyl cyclohexane. For 1m3 of effluent, 1.42m3 of air were required.
