abstract Macroporous polymer absorbents consist of ternary copolymers (I), of, by wt., (a) 1.70% hydroxy-1-6C-alkyl (meth)acrylate, (b) 30-90% 1-18C-alkyl (meth)acrylate and (c) 20-80% 1-6C-alkylene bis-(meth)acrylate. (I) are used for gas chromatography of hydrocarbons, alcohols, organic acids and heterocyclic N cpds. Monomer (c) content can determine polarity of inner surface and chromatographic behaviour of prod. Materials having a high specific surface can be prepd. as spherical particles. Absorbent is produced in 1 reaction step and requires no further chemical conversion before use in chromatography. Sepn. activity is increased. In an example, ternary copolymer contained hydroxyethyl methacrylate, ethylene dimethacrylate and Me methacrylate.
