Feed granules for carrier-pigeons contain peas, wheat flour, alga flour, grape sugar, powdered sugar, flower pollen, talc and FeSO4. The granules are coated with an opt. coloured lacquer which slowly decomposes in the pigeon's stomach thus releasing the nutrient substances. The lacquer can be "Eudragid" (RTM) or shellac. The compsn. contains carbohydrates, amino acids, mineral substances, vitamins and trace elements, which are gradually released as a source of energy during the bird's flight. |
