| abstract |
Soft gelatin capsules contain a soln. of digoxin (I) in a mixt. of (a) lactose, (b) liq. polyethylene glycol (PEG) (c) solid PEG and (d) glycerol and/or propylene glycol. The PEG components have an av. mol. wt. of 300-6000. The wt. ratio of (I) to (b)+(c)+(d) is pref. 1:250-5000. The mixt. of (b)+(c)+(d) pref. comprises 50-98 liq. PEG (M=300-1000, esp. 400) 1-20% solid PEG (M = 1500-6000, esp. 4000) and 1-20% glycerol and/or propylene glycol. The solns. are stable and are resorbed rapidly and uniformly in the gastro-intestinal tract. |
