titleOfInvention | AEROSOL GENERATOR FOR THE GENERATION OF A SUSPENSION FOR POWDERY OR FIBROUS SUBSTANCES IN THE GAS PHASE |
abstract | The generator comprises a container, in which the powder or fibres are maintained in an oscillating fluidised bed by a flow of gas; equipment is provided to impart mechanical vibrations to the container and thus to its contents. Pref. additional devices are used for regulating the aerosol concn. of particle-size distribution as a function of the frequency and amplitude of the vibrations. Dust and aerosol prodn. is regulated by a dynamic equilibrium state between the disintegration and re-agglomeration of the powder or fibres in the surface layer of the oscillating bed. The mechanical oscillating forces enable the cohesive forces between the particles to be overcome so that the air flow will entrain these particles or fibres with it. Arrangement enables the quantity of particles or fibres entrained by the air to be regulated as desired. |
