METHOD OF REMOVING ARSENIC FROM A SOLUTION CONTAINING ARSENIC TOGETHER WITH COPPER |
abstract |
Arsenic present in electrolytic solns. contg. Cu from the hydrometallurgical treatment of Cu ores, is removed from these solns. by contact with an org. phase contg. tributylphosphate, whereby As is transferred to the org. phase. This org. phase is then brought into contact with water or an aq. alkaline soln. so as to transfer As into an aq. phase from which it is subsequently extd. The org. phase used as extracting agent pref. contains 50-75 vo.% tributylphosphate, and in addn. an alcohol such as 2-ethylhexanol or dodecylalcohol. |
