abstract | The novel azo dyes are of formula (I) In (I) R1 is H, NO2, CN, SO2R7, CONR8R9, SO2R8R9, SO2OR10, COOR10, SO2NHSO2R11, sulpho or alkyl. R2 is H, NO2, halogen or opt. substd, alkyl, alkoxy or aryl. R3 is H, halogen SO2R7, SO2NR8R9 or opt. substd. alkyl, alkoxy or aryl. R4 is H, halogen or opt. substd. alkyl, alkoxy or aryl. R5 is H or opt. substd. alkyl. R6 is alkylene, R7 is opt. subst. alkyl, aryl or aralkyl. R8 and R9 taken separately are each H or opt. substd. alkyl, cyclo-alkyl or aralkyl. R8 and R9 together with the N atom may form a heterocycle, R10 is H or opt. substd. alkyl, aryl or aralkyl. R11 is opt. substd. alkyl or aryl, or dialkylamino; n = 1 or 2; -OR6-OSO3H is in the o- or p-pos. w.r.t. azo gp. The dyes give very good uniformity with very high uptake. In a specific cpd. (Ie R1 is (Et)2N-SO2; R2 is H, R3 is H (n=1) R4-5 are H and R6 is -CH2-CH-C2H5. |
