titleOfInvention PROCESS FOR THE PRODUCTION OF STABLE DISPERSIONS
abstract In situ prepn. of stable dispersions of polyureas and/or polyhydrazodicarbonamides in hydroxylated cpds., comprises reacting (1) organic polyisocyanates and (2) polyamines and/or hydrazines and/or hydrazides with prim. and/or sec. amino gps., (3) in a dispersing medium having at least one OH group, is described in the parent patent. The process is now improved by introducing the components (1), (2) and (3) continuously into a mixer such that the average residence time in the mixer is 10 mins. The equiv. ratio between components (1) and (2) is 0.8-1.05. On leaving the mixer, the prod. passes to a vessel where it is heated to 50-150 degrees C, opt. with stirring. Component (3) is a polyester, polyesteramide and/or polycarbonate contg. three OH gps. and with a molecular wt. of 400-16000, and/or polyols with a molecular wt. of 67-400, or high molecular polyethers which may contain supplementary OH gps. The component (3) is opt. mixed with an inert organic solvent which may then be eliminated after the polyaddn. reaction. The dispersions are esp. useful for the prodn. of polyurethanes contg. dispersed finely divided polyureas or polyhydrazodicarbonamide, by reaction with polyisocyanates, chain elongation agents and opt. blowing agents, catalysts and other additives.
