titleOfInvention METHOD OF COLORING OR PRINTING TEXTILES
abstract The parent patent 2247420 described a process for dyeing or printing of textiles comprising or contg. homo- or copolymers of acrylonitrile or as -dicyanoethylene, or synthetic polyamides or polyesters modified by acidic groups, the process being effected by (a) printing the textile with a mixt. of a salt of divalent copper and a reducing agent, in order to reduce its absorption power for basic dyes and nb) dyeing or printing the treated textile with a basic dye. In the patent of addition, imitation animal skins are produced from long piled upholstery sheets by (1) printing the pile side with a reserve printing paste according to the parent patent so that about one third to one half of the lenth of the pile from the fibre tip is pretreated, (2) producing the pretreated fabric in a normal manner, (3) printing the pile side with a cationic dye paste, esp. having a very dark shade, so that about two thirds of the length of the pile from the fibre tip is pretreated, and (4) subjecting the pile fabric to the usual finishing processes.
